Welcome to Wilson Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Services.
Wilson Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Services provides
electrical mechanical diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of
the heart as well as diagnosis and treatment of peripheral vascular
disease. We have collaborative relationships with other
organizations for extensive heart procedures. Now in partnership
with WakeMed Heart Center, we offer cardiac stenting at
Wilson Medical Center.
Cardiac Cath Lab
We have performed diagnostic cardiac catheterizations in our cardiac cath lab since
1989. Changes to our lab include the recent upgrade of cath lab equipment and the installation of three new GE Vivid E9 4D ultrasound machines in our Cardiology Department. This equipment was upgraded or replaced to ensure that patients who choose to have their heart care at Wilson Medical Center will have access to the best technology available.
Pediatric Clinic
The hospital offers diagnostic and follow-up heart care for pediatric patients. The clinic is led by Dennis Steed, M.D., of ECU Physicians.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehabilitation is one of the most important components of complete cardiac care. Our staff includes two registered nurses, an exercise specialist, and a dietitian. This team works with patients in making appropriate lifestyle changes to improve their condition in support of quality of life and disease management.
