Welcome to New Hope Primary Care.
New Hope Primary Care is a Family Medicine Office that serves primarily the people of Wilson and Nash counties. Our goal is to provide health care to our patients so that they will be as healthy as they can be. We see patients from 0 to 100 years of age. We are an affiliate of Wilson Medical Center.
Our services include:Insurance and Payment
We participate in most area health
plans, including Cigna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Medcost, Tricare, and others. We also accept Medicare and Medicaid.
We must have a copy of your current insurance card. Please bring your insurance card to every visit for verification.
Payment is expected at the time of service, including co-payments. You are responsible for co-payments, deductibles, co-insurance, and non-covered services.
About Your Appointment
Please make an appointment, even if your appointment is later that day. Arrive to your appointment at the designated time. You may be needed to arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment to fill out paperwork or for laboratory testing. Bring all of your medications to every visit. You are responsible for updating us to any changes in your name, address, phone number, or insurance coverage.
About Your Physician
Dr. Nadine Skinner is a board-certified Family Physician who has been in private practice since 2005. She was born and reared in nearby Martin County. She graduated as Valedictorian from Roanoke High School in 1994. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with General Education Honors and
Magna cum Laude designation in December 1997 on a full-merit scholarship.
Dr. Skinner received her Doctor of
Medicine from East Carolina University in
2002. In June 2005, she completed her residency training in Family Medicine at
New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. As a resident,
she was named Outstanding Resident of the Year for 2004. In addition, Dr.
Skinner has been active in research, being published in the Journal of Family
Practice in May 2005 and November 2005.
Dr. Skinner has a love for teaching, and students are often working with her in the office. Currently, she serves as preceptor for medical students from UNC, Duke University, and ECU.
She has been involved with the School Health Advisory Council for the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools. She is an advocate for the prevention of Child and Adolescent Obesity. She is an active member of the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians and serves on the Board of Health of the Public Council as well as the Board of Directors as the New Physician Constituency representative.
Dr. Skinner has many interests outside of medicine including watching sports, enjoying music, and spending time with friends and family. She and her husband Jeff have one son named Luke and a cat named Prince Murdock. They are active members of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount where Dr. Skinner sings in the Sanctuary Choir.
Dr. Skinner enjoys keeping people healthy of all ages, and she is enthusiastic in serving this community’s healthcare needs.
